8 Days Serengeti Migration Safari by Torias Pride

5/5 5 reviews 8 days · 7 nights Tanzania Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater +1

About this tour

The Serengeti migration is a famous event in Tanzania where millions of animals, like wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, travel together in search of fresh grass and water. They move in a big circle every year through the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This journey is very long and dangerous because the animals have to cross rivers filled with hungry crocodiles and face lions and other predators along the way. Migration is one of the most amazing natural events in the world, and many people visit Africa to see it.

What to expect

  • You’ll see thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving together.
  • River Crossings: One of the most exciting parts is when the animals cross rivers. This can be thrilling because they have to swim through strong currents and avoid crocodiles.
  • Hungry Predators: Lions, cheetahs, and other hunters follow the herds. You might see these animals trying to catch their food, which can be exciting and scary.
  • Besides the migrating animals, you’ll also see many birds and other creatures.

Carry a hot picnic as we angle into Serengeti National Park. Kopjes rise like islands; figged river lines hint at leopard; prides rest on warm granite as the day builds. We keep speeds modest and eyes on the sign—dust on a ridge, a vulture spiral, the hush in gazelles that says “wait here.”

By late light, settle into Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp for your overnight stay

After breakfast, just around 7:00 am, Angle north across the kopje belts and river lines for big-cat chances en route. As plains give way to the Mara River, we check primary bends for herd traffic and crocodile positions. We favor clean angles over crowds and keep respectful spacing so the river has room to tell its story.

Lunch lands hot in the field near a shaded vantage. If activity builds, we hold the post rather than chase mileage. By mid-afternoon, we run an arrival loop along the river, then settle into Mara Under Canvas Check-in covers tent briefing, laundry timings, Wi-Fi details, and tomorrow’s plan—either an early river session or a scout loop, depending on overnight sign.

Day 5

North Serengeti

Camp pick-up: 06:30 with flasks and pastries.

4×4 Land Cruiser 3 meals

Camp pick-up: 06:30 with flasks and pastries. Take a patient vantage above a likely Mara River entry, guided by fresh tracks, vulture spirals, and whispers from our scout network. Herds may stack on the banks—listening, testing, swiveling—then surge; or they may mill for hours. We hold clean, respectful positions and never press approach paths, so behavior stays natural and photos stay clean.

A mid-morning loop checks secondary bends and hippo pools; if sign spikes, we return to our primary post. Hot lunch is served at a shaded pull-off with coffee, then we ride the afternoon light. Optional: Hot-Air Balloon – $540 pp (pre-dawn, seasonal). Return to Mara Under Canvas by dusk for showers, dinner, and a relaxed image review.

Day 6

Central Serengeti

Camp pick-up: 07:30.

4×4 Land Cruiser 3 meals

Camp pick-up: 07:30. Work one last river loop for dawn behavior, then ease south with a hot picnic to Central Serengeti. Resident cats and kopje systems make Seronera reliable; we read wind and light to keep scenes composed and animals comfortable, returning to promising signs if it builds.

Lunch lands around 12:30–13:00 at a shaded pullover with coffee refills. The afternoon works river loops, hippo pools, and short-grass mounds where cheetahs scan. By late light, we reach Serengeti Kati Kati Camp. Orientation confirms wake-up call, breakfast slot, and pick-up at reception tomorrow for the Ngorongoro run. After a Full Board dinner, pack an easy day-bag: hat, layer, sunscreen, and spare batteries—the crater compresses subjects beautifully.

Ngorongoro Crater

Camp pick-up: 06:00.

4×4 Land Cruiser 3 meals

Camp pick-up: 06:00. Drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater just after first light. Marsh, grass, and woodland compress East Africa’s coast into one amphitheater: lions near tracks, old bull elephants in swamps, huge buffalo herds, hippo pools, and—with luck—a distant black rhino along the fringe. We prioritize behavior and soft angles, keeping respectful spacing for calm viewing.

After having a descent game drive, we drive to Ngorongoro Farmhouse for your relaxation

Lodge pick-up: 08:30. If you wish, step into a curated Maasai visit—stories, song, and daily life (beadwork, milking)—handled with respect and time for questions. Then continue toward Arusha. Bags remain secure in-vehicle while you enjoy a cheerful, hosted hot lunch at a trusted in-town restaurant/coffee lodge. This is the moment to trade favorite sightings, review images, and (if flight times allow) make a brief, curated craft stop.

After lunch, continue privately to JRO with comfortable buffers for check-in and formalities. Your driver helps with luggage and farewells at the terminal forecourt. Asante sana—may the hush between sightings and the warmth of these days travel home with you.

I had an unforgettable safari experience with Torias Adventures as my 1st choice in Tanzania. On the very first day, we spotted lions, and Guide dedication shone through on the second day when he tirelessly helped me find my favorite animal, the leopard. Amazingly, we saw leopards again on the third day! Our guide is not only gentle and emotionally steady but also an incredibly skilled driver, navigating the terrain with ease. His expertise and passion made the trip truly special. I highly recommend the company to anyone looking for an exceptional safari . Thank you for making my adventure so memorable

We had an incredibly super experience with a safari in Tanzania. We booked our trip through Toria’s Trip Adventure and Travel. The company helped us from when we landed at Kilimanjaro International Airport to the National Parks. The guide we had was warm and friendly. They attempted and managed to locate the animals for us. It was our lucky day. The places we visited were great. The day we spent a night sleeping in the tent, experiencing the sense of being mixed up with wilderness/nature when we could hear the birds, animals, blowing winds and many more. I would recommend this company. I am looking forward to go back in Tanzania next time.

Absolutely great implementation of our own travel wishes: Torias Pride made a four-day transfer from Mwanza to Kilimanjaro Airport, with safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The car was very well equipped and the driver incredibly good at tracking the animals. Where many other safari vehicles just drove on, he stopped and showed us animals that were not visible at first sight. And I'm not talking about birds and small animals, but about lion pairs and the like. The lodges and hotels selected by Torias Pride were consistently of high quality with very good service. We enjoyed the tour very much, very much again!

An exceptional safari, organized with precision and effectiveness by the talented Lucy and the staff of Torias. We relied on them at the suggestion of local people and we were extremely satisfied: the tour allowed us to visit, in a week, three parks - Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro - dedicating the right time for good game drives and, at the same time, appropriate relaxation. Our guide, Sadi, was more than a driver and a companion: he became a companion of adventure, whose knowledge and eyes ready to see lions even while he was engrossed in driving, taught us about the exceptional functioning of the savannah and its inhabitants. All the overnight stays were super: almost all of us (five nights out of six) were guests of the beautiful and functional TWC camps where we dined excellently and stayed in peace and security. What about it? I highly recommend relying on Torias to organize your safari: nothing will disappoint you
