These terms explain how you may use Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) (“we”, “us”, “the website”). Please read them before you send a request or create an account. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
1. Who we are
Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) is run by Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO). You can reach us at [email protected].
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or send a request. If you send a request for other people, you promise that you are allowed to do so and that you have shared these terms with them.
2. What Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) is, and what it is not
Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) is an online marketplace and directory. It helps travellers find licensed tour operators, places to stay, restaurants and things to do in Tanzania and nearby, and send them a request.
- We are not the tour operator, hotel or restaurant. Tours, accommodation, meals and other services are provided by the independent businesses listed on the website (“partners”).
- We do not take payments and we do not sell tours. Nothing you do on the website is a booking. A booking exists only when a partner confirms it with you and you agree its terms with that partner.
- Your contract is with the partner. Prices, what is included, payment terms, cancellation and refunds, insurance and any other conditions are set by the partner. We are not a party to that contract and we are not responsible for how the partner carries it out.
3. Sending a request
When you send a request (for a tour, a stay, a table or a general question), we pass what you wrote to the partner you chose, so they can reply to you. In doing so:
- You must give true and complete details, including a working email address and a phone or WhatsApp number that starts with your country code.
- You agree that the partner, and our team where needed to check that a request is genuine, may contact you by email, phone, SMS or WhatsApp about it.
- Estimated totals shown while you plan are only a guide worked out from the prices the partner has given us. They are not a quote or an offer. The partner’s own written quote is the price that counts.
- A request does not hold a date, a room, a table or a price until the partner confirms it.
- Please do not send false, duplicate or test requests, or requests meant to sell something to the partner.
4. Information on listings
Descriptions, itineraries, photos, prices, opening hours, availability and reviews are provided by partners and travellers. We ask partners to keep them accurate and our team reviews listings and changes (see the Partner Editorial Guidelines), but we cannot check every detail and we do not promise that everything is complete, current or error free. Before you pay anyone, please confirm with the partner what is included, what it costs, how you will pay, the cancellation terms, and that the business holds the licences it needs.
A “verified” badge means our team has seen the licence documents the partner sent us at the time. It is not a guarantee of the quality, safety or financial standing of a business.
5. Your account
You can use much of the website without an account. If you create one, keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can change your details or close your account at any time in your account settings. Closing it removes your sign-in and your saved items; requests you already sent stay with the partners who received them, no longer linked to your account.
6. Reviews, photos and other things you post
Reviews, photos and messages you submit must follow our Review and Community Guidelines. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give us a free, worldwide licence to show it on the website and in our promotion of the website, to edit it for length, spelling or to remove personal details, and to pass it to the business it is about. You promise that it is your own work and your own experience, that it is true, and that it does not break anyone’s rights or the law. We may refuse, edit or remove anything that breaks these terms or the guidelines. Published reviews show your first name or the name you entered, and your country.
7. Using the website properly
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape or collect the website’s content or partners’ contact details with automated tools, or reuse them to market other businesses;
- pretend to be another person or business, or write reviews for a business you own, work for, compete with or were paid to review;
- try to get around our security, send harmful code, overload the website, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- use the website for anything unlawful, abusive, hateful or misleading.
8. Our content and other people’s rights
The website’s design, text, logo and software belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial trip planning. Photos on the website belong to the people credited; some come from open licences such as Wikimedia Commons and are used under the terms stated with them. You may not use any of this commercially without permission from the owner.
If you believe something on the website infringes your rights, write to us at [email protected] with a link and an explanation and we will look at it promptly.
9. Other websites and services
The website links to partners’ own pages and other sites, and uses services such as map tiles and embedded videos. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
10. Travel risks and your own preparation
Travel, safaris, wildlife viewing, water activities and mountain trekking carry real risks, including illness, altitude sickness, injury, weather, delays and wildlife. You are responsible for deciding whether a trip suits you and your group, for checking passport, visa, vaccination and health requirements, for following the travel advice of your own government, and for buying travel and medical insurance that covers the activities you plan (including evacuation, and for treks, the altitude you will reach).
11. Our responsibility to you
We provide the website “as it is” and “as available”. We work to keep it correct and running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for: what partners or other travellers do, say or fail to do; the quality, safety, price, availability or cancellation of any tour, stay or meal you arrange with a partner; losses that were not a foreseeable result of our own breach; or loss of profit, opportunity or enjoyment. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
12. Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or close an account, remove content, or block access if you break these terms, if we think a request or account is fraudulent or abusive, or if the law requires it. You may stop using the website whenever you like.
13. Problems and disputes
If you are unhappy with the website or a listing, write to us at [email protected] and tell us what happened. We will reply and try to put it right. If you have a problem with a trip itself, please raise it with the partner first and keep a record of what you agreed. We can help by passing your complaint on, but we cannot refund or settle a booking we are not party to.
These terms are governed by the law of the United Republic of Tanzania. The courts of the United Republic of Tanzania can hear disputes about them, without removing any right you may have to go to the courts where you live if the law of your country gives you that right.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change is important we will tell you on the website or by email. Using the website after a change means you accept the new version.
