This policy explains the small files (“cookies”) and similar browser storage that Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) uses, what each is for, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Browsers also offer “local storage”, which keeps small pieces of information on your device in a similar way. We use both. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. What we use
Needed for the website to work
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
WordPress sign-in cookies (wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wp-settings-…) |
Keep you signed in to your account or partner dashboard and remember your interface settings. Set only when you sign in. | Up to 2 days, or 14 days if you chose “Keep me signed in” |
wordpress_test_cookie |
Checks that your browser accepts cookies, on the sign-in page. | Session |
| Security tokens | Forms use a hidden token to prove that a request really came from you. These are not stored as cookies for visitors who are not signed in. | Single use |
Choices and convenience, kept on your device
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
tto-saved |
The tours, stays and places you saved with the heart button while you are not signed in. Moves to your account if you sign in. | Until you clear it |
tto-recent |
The pages you looked at recently, so we can show “Recently viewed”. | Until you clear it |
tto-contact |
Your name and email, so you do not need to type them again on the next request form. Stays on your device and is not sent to us until you send a request. | Until you clear it |
tto-liked, tto-map-panel, tto-saved-hint |
Which reviews you marked helpful, whether you hid the map list, and that you have seen a tip. | Until you clear it |
Counting visits
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
tto_seen |
Lets us count each tour, operator, stay or restaurant page once per visitor per day, so partners see how many people viewed their listing. It holds only today’s date and the numbers of the pages you opened. It is our own cookie and is not shared with anyone. | 1 day |
3. Content from other companies
- Maps. Pages with a map load map images from a map provider. Their servers receive your IP address and the part of the map you view, and may set their own cookies.
- Videos. Some destination pages can show a YouTube video, loaded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (
youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set cookies until you play the video.
The fonts on this website are served from our own site, not from a font provider.
4. Your choices
- Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and site storage. Look under “Privacy” or “Site data” in your browser’s settings. Blocking the sign-in cookies means you will not be able to sign in.
- If you clear
tto-saved, saved items you did not move to an account are lost. - If you choose to block the visit-counting cookie, the website works as normal. Your visit may then be counted again if you open the same page more than once in a day.
5. Changes
If we start to use a new kind of cookie, for example for advertising or deeper analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your agreement where the law requires it.
