These terms are the agreement between Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) (“we”, “us”) and the business that lists itself on Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) (“you”, “the partner”). They apply to tour operators, places to stay and restaurants, and to everyone who manages a listing for them. By creating a partner account, claiming a listing or using the partner dashboard you accept them on behalf of your business and confirm that you have authority to do so.
They sit alongside our Partner Editorial Guidelines, Review and Community Guidelines, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If they conflict, these Partner Terms win for your business.
1. What Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) does for you
Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) is a marketplace where travellers find licensed businesses and send them requests. We give you a public listing, a dashboard to manage it and see your requests, reviews and statistics, and tools to build tours. We do not sell your services, take payment for them, or become a party to any agreement between you and a traveller. Nothing on Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) guarantees you any number of requests or bookings.
2. Who may list
- You must be a real business that lawfully offers the services you list, with every licence, permit and registration the law requires for them. Tour operators must hold a valid tourist agent or tour operator licence for the services they sell; places to stay and restaurants must hold the business, health and safety, and tourism licences that apply to them.
- You must send us true copies of the documents we ask for and keep them valid. Tell us promptly if a licence expires, is suspended or is withdrawn. We may ask to see documents again at any time.
- The person who signs up or claims a listing must be an owner, director or someone the business has authorised in writing. We may ask for proof, and we may refuse or remove an account if we are not satisfied.
- You may not list a business you do not run, or list the same business twice.
3. Your account
Keep your login private and use it only for your business. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for the people you give access to. Remove access for anyone who leaves. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused. We may require that more than one person has access, but each person must use their own login.
4. Review before a listing goes live
New listings and some later changes are checked by our team before they appear (see the Partner Editorial Guidelines for what is checked). We may ask for changes, send a listing back to you, edit small errors, or decline a listing. A decision to publish is not a promise that your content is correct or lawful, and you stay responsible for it. “Verified” badges show only that we have seen your documents at a point in time.
5. Your content
- You are responsible for everything you add: text, prices, itineraries, photos, documents, replies. It must be accurate, current, lawful and follow the Editorial Guidelines.
- You promise that you own it or have permission to use it (including the right to show photographs of the people, places and works in them), and that it does not breach anyone’s rights.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us a free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize, convert, translate, summarise and promote it on Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO), in our emails and social media, and in search results and previews, for as long as you are listed and for a reasonable time after to complete removal.
- We may shrink or reformat photos and may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
6. Requests from travellers
- Requests reach you by email and in your dashboard. You will keep the email addresses linked to your listing up to date.
- Reply promptly, politely and honestly. We aim for a reply within 24 hours and show typical reply times in your statistics. Update the status of each request in the dashboard so it reflects what happened.
- A quote you give must be in writing, state the total price, what is included and excluded, how and when payment is due, and your cancellation and refund terms. If an estimate on Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) differs from your quote, your written quote is the price, and you should correct the listing.
- Honour what you confirm. If you cannot, tell the traveller early and offer a fair alternative or refund.
- Payments are handled directly between you and the traveller. Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) does not take or hold money. Make clear who is to be paid, in which name and by which method, and give a receipt.
- Do not ask travellers to pay into a personal account unconnected with the business, or to give a review or a rating in return for anything.
7. Your responsibility to travellers
You alone are responsible for delivering the services you sell and for the safety of your guests, staff, guides, drivers and porters. You will: comply with all laws that apply to your services (consumer protection, tourism, park and conservation rules, employment, tax, health and safety, wildlife and cultural-heritage rules); hold insurance suited to your services (including liability cover, and for treks and safaris, rescue and evacuation arrangements); treat staff, porters, guides and drivers fairly, with fair pay, safe equipment and rest; and treat travellers, communities and wildlife with respect. You will not offer anything that is illegal, harms wildlife, or exploits people.
8. Reviews
Travellers can review your business, and we publish reviews that follow our Review and Community Guidelines. You may reply once to each. You must not write or buy fake reviews, review yourself or your competitors, pressure or reward travellers for a review or rating, or threaten a reviewer. Reviews cannot be bought, changed or removed for payment. If you think a review breaks the guidelines, report it to us and we will check it. We may take down your replies if they break the guidelines.
9. Travellers’ personal information
When a traveller sends you a request, you receive their personal information. From that moment you are responsible for it as a data controller under the law, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of Tanzania and any other law that applies. You agree to:
- use it only to answer that request and deliver the trip, to meet your legal duties, and for other purposes the traveller has agreed to;
- not sell it, publish it, or send marketing to the traveller unless they have clearly agreed;
- keep it secure, share it only with people who need it (such as your guides and hotels), and delete it when it is no longer needed;
- help travellers who ask to see, correct or delete their information, and tell us without delay if you suffer a data breach that affects travellers who contacted you through Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO).
We also look after your own information as described in the Privacy Policy. Page-view and request statistics shown in your dashboard are for your use and must not be shared in a misleading way.
10. Fees and paid features
We will tell you before any charge applies to your business, for example for paid promotion or extra services. You are only charged for what you have agreed to, and we will agree the price, period and terms with you in writing first. Paid placement of a listing in a banner or list affects only how prominent it is, never its reviews or ratings, and we may label it as promoted.
11. Changes to your listing and the service
You can change your listing in the dashboard. Some changes to live tours (such as prices, days and available months) go live at once, and others are held for our team to approve. We may change, add or remove features of Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO), with reasonable notice where a change greatly affects you. We try to keep Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) running but do not promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
12. Acting responsibly with Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO)
You will not copy or scrape Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO), use another partner’s content or contact details, make false claims about being endorsed by us, interfere with the website, try to see data that is not yours, or use the dashboard to send unsolicited messages. You may state that you are listed on Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO), but may not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we own, operate or guarantee your business.
13. Suspension and ending
- You may close your listing at any time by writing to [email protected], or take tours offline in your dashboard.
- We may send a listing back, take it offline, suspend your account or remove you if you break these terms or the guidelines, if your licence is not valid, if we receive serious or repeated complaints, if we believe you are acting unlawfully or dishonestly, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you the chance to put it right first.
- When a listing ends, its requests and statistics may be kept as records, and reviews already published may stay visible as part of the history of the business, unless the law or the Review Guidelines require removal. Clauses that by nature should continue (such as sections 5, 9, 14 and 15) continue after the agreement ends.
14. Responsibility and compensation
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the services you provide, for what travellers do, for lost bookings or profits, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. You will compensate us for losses, claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your breach of these terms, from your content, or from the services you provide to travellers.
15. General
- These terms are governed by the law of the United Republic of Tanzania, and its courts decide disputes, unless the law gives either side the right to go elsewhere. We will first try to resolve any dispute by talking with you.
- We may update these terms with reasonable notice (normally at least 14 days) by email or in your dashboard. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your listing before it starts; if you continue to use the dashboard afterwards, you accept it.
- You may not transfer your account to someone else without our written agreement. We may transfer this agreement if the business behind Tanzania Tour Operators (TTO) is sold.
- If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it.
- This agreement does not make you our employee, agent or partner in the legal sense, and it does not give you exclusive rights to any category, destination or position.
16. Contact
